Another rough weekend in the Sierra. It happened during the second weekend of October 2015. We left on Monday October 12th, which was the last weekend this campground was open before winter. Hard to believe as the temperature reached 28ºC during the daytime. In the evening it was a warm 14ºC, probably on top of the scale of warm Fall days over here at 2200m of altitude. The campground is just off 108 East of Dardanelle, and maybe 20 minutes away from Sonora Pass. The South Fork of the Stanislaus River passes right by, and the sound of its waters will put you to sleep at night.
