Izamal y Merida

So we're spent a couple days in Izamal, a small provincial town and Merida the capital of Yucatan. A different experience, you see more of the real side of Mexico. Both places have amazing colonial centers with great plazas where people seem to be endlessly hanging out. Merida is quite big, dirty and polluted as well, buses spewing nasty black smokes and driving fast right near the small crowded sidewalks. There are quite a few museums, and old buildings used for official reasons that you can visit for free, pretty cool. We stayed in Merida one night, and realized that we had been sleeping in quiet places until now. Tonight we're back in Valladolid, before heading north towards the coast and more Mayan ruins!
